Fort Louis

Fort Louis is a historical architecture built by the French in 1789. Fort Louis was built to defend the area from the British and Dutch pirates. Overlooking a hill at the port of Marigot, the fort offers historic fortifications and excellent sights of the isle. Here you will get fantastic views, but first, you have to climb the fort, which usually lasts 20-30 minutes. At the top, you can see 360-degree views of Simpson Bay, Nettle Bay, and then Anguilla in the distance. Fort ruins explain a bit of the history. Even though the French still control this part of St. Marti, the fort has long been abandoned.
