  • Bake for up to 30 minutes.

Other popular dishes

Below are several examples of tasty appetizers that will win the crowd of any sized party. If you want to add the heat to these dishes and many others like them, Jirie’s jerk seasoning combines paprika, scotch bonnet, and a hefty supply of cayenne to scorch one’s tongue faster than the fire itself.

Jamaican Hot Pepper Shrimp

Plump and sweet shrimp are seasoned with paprika and hot scotch bonnets, delivering an earthly flavor met with cloves, thyme, and allspice.

Jamaican Jerk Sweet Potato Fries

While most Americans will never cease to praise the deliciousness of salty, crispy French Fries, these Sweet Potato fries can prove ever so addictive in their own way. Aside from the sugary taste offered by the sweet potato, Jamaican fries are made special with Jirie spices. Cinnamon, ginger, cayenne, and allspice are evenly coated on each fry, providing an irresistible taste.

Fried Plantains

Green cooking bananas, more often referred to as plantains, yield a sticky and sweet appetizer dish that is guaranteed to disappear in a matter of seconds. These ripe slices are coated in maple syrup and brown sugar until fried to a golden color.

Boiled Yellow Yam

Although they may not seem exciting on the surface, boiled yams are loaded with minerals, antioxidants, and vitamins in a simple, easy-to-make, healthy dish.

Jamaican Fried Dumplings

A classic comfort dish includes fried dumplings, or “Johnny Cakes.” Crafted from flour dough that is deep-fried and formed into hand-sized balls, the morsels are delicious on their own (without the need for coating or filling!).

Jamaican Fried Chicken

What separates Jamaican chicken from its American counterpart includes various spices marinated together, such as thyme, ginger, garlic, and paprika. Bursting with taste, this dish is crispy, crunchy, juicy, and tender all at the same time!

Jamaican Coleslaw

Similar to the popular American version, coleslaw features cabbage and shredded carrots. Just as refreshing and crunchy, but drenched in a dressing mixed with mayonnaise, Jamaican jerk spice, sugar, and vinegar.

Jamaican Jerk Chicken Wings

These chicken wings are juicy and crisp but are flavored with a Jirie Jerk Seasoning made from thyme, allspice, paprika, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Instead of fried, they are baked to remove excessive grease.

Jerk Beef Sliders

Though a hamburger, the patties are seasoned with special allspice, nutmeg, and ginger and a citrus coleslaw fill, which provides the perfect balance of meaty and creamy flavor.
