Throughout the 17th and early 18th centuries, the island was contested by England and France, with possession changing 14 times. In 1814, it was eventually given to the United Kingdom. In 1967, the country was awarded self-government, followed by independence in 1979. It has been regarded as the world’s No. 1 Honeymooner’s destination, a magnificent volcanic island situated in the Caribbean Sea. It is distinguished from its neighbors by a strong and stable political climate and economy, as well as friendly people.

Climate
This is owing to the fact that the island’s average temperature is around 27° C all year. However, late spring and early summer are the finest times to visit. May and June are the months in question. Then, even at the most opulent hotels, the prices are far more reasonable. Summer and late autumn provide exciting events to the island. However, there is more frequent rainfall and a larger risk of hurricanes during this time of year. As a result, travelers favor the dry season. It lasts from December to April, yet it’s the busiest and most expensive time of year in Saint Lucia, a fun fact to know.
Festivals
There’s the International Jazz and Art Festival, for example. The festival used to last ten days and featured pop, R&B, and reggae music. The festival’s focus has shifted in recent years, and it is now primarily centered on excellent jazz music. The Saint Lucia Jazz Festival, however, is more than just about music. It’s all about honoring the island’s culture. And dancing is quite important in that culture. The Jazz & Art Festival has a long history as one of the region’s most outstanding events. The Pigeon Island National Landmark is usually where the festival’s main stage is held. Concerts, on the other hand, are held in a variety of settings. Every year, thousands of people attend the Saint Lucia Jazz Festival, which includes free street parties, jazz and soul concerts, and educational programs.
Beaches
The beaches on the west side of the island enjoy calm Caribbean waters. Swimming and water activities are very popular there. The eastern side, on the other hand, is more reminiscent of the luscious Atlantic waters. As a result, there is more ideal for surfing and those who simply enjoy watching the waves. Reduit Beach is one of the most well-known beaches in the area. The beaches on St. Lucia are, for the most part, short. Reduit, on the other hand, has eight kilometers of white sand along Rodney Bay, making it ideal for lengthy shore walks and swimming in calm waters. This beach is popular with visitors since it is close to Rodney Bay’s restaurants and stores. Water sports and deck chairs are available for rent at some stores. Every beach on Saint Lucia is available to the public, including those within the greatest resorts. So you don’t have to stay in the resort if you want to stay on the beach. The cuisine of St. Lucia is a mix of American, European, Indian, and Caribbean influences.
