The scenery of St. Vincent and the Grenadines is among the most beautiful in the Caribbean. There are numerous private islands here, many of which have luxury resorts. Dive sites abound, and coral reefs line several of the beaches, providing great snorkeling just a short distance from shore. Discerning island lovers go to these tranquil and unassuming islands for a taste of classic Caribbean beauty away from the throngs of cruise ships that clog up the larger ports. The capital of St. Vincent, Kingstown, has cobblestone streets and colonial structures, while Union Island serves as the southern entry to the Grenadines.
The emerald islets of Bequia, Mustique, Mayreau, Canouan, Palm Island, and Petit St. Vincent are strewn around like gems in the surrounding waters. The picture-perfect Tobago Cays, which are part of a marine park encircled by coral reefs, attract divers, snorkelers, boaters, and beachcombers alike.
Petit St. Vincent
The island of Petit St. Vincent is a tropical dream come true. PSV is another name for PSV. Two miles of pristine sand beaches encircle PSV. The landscape inland is made up of gently sloping hills and tropical woodland, which is where the resort’s accommodations are located. Marni Hill, located to the northwest of the island, is the highest point on the island, standing at 275 feet above sea level. The boutique Petit St. Vincent Resort is located on this privately owned island, where visitors are accommodated in isolated ocean-view villas scattered around the slopes and bays.
The villas are free of phones and televisions in order to maintain the island’s peacefulness. Colored flags, on the other hand, send messages to the attentive personnel. The resort is part of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World network and spans the entire island. It’s also a popular honeymoon location and one of the best luxury all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean.
Palm Island
Palm Island is a piece of heaven on earth. The island is called for the numerous coconut trees planted by the resort’s original owners. It is home to the Palm Island Resort & Spa, one of the greatest beach resorts, and vacation houses can be found on St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The coast is surrounded by five white-sand beaches, with great snorkeling close offshore in the clear turquoise sea. Union Island is only a short boat trip away, and the island has a tiny airport. Paddleboarding, kayaking, sailing, biking around the island, dining on delicious seafood in the resort’s restaurants, and relaxing on the gorgeous beaches are all popular activities here.
La Soufrière Volcano Hiking Tour
A guided walk to the crater of the La Soufrière volcano is one of the most popular activities on the island of St. Vincent. La Soufriere is St. Vincent’s tallest mountain, rising 1,234 meters above sea level. It’s still active, with the most recent eruption in 1979 resulting in no casualties. You may trek the leeward path for six to eight hours round trip or the simpler and more popular windward trail for three to four hours round trip to reach the crater. You’ll witness rainforest, cloud forest, and beautiful vistas of the surrounding countryside as you learn about the especially suited flora and animals. You’ll also have the opportunity to explore the crater after you reach the summit.
